Metabolic Health and Diet

Today I want to talk about something that’s been really in the spotlight over the last two years, but it’s been going that way for a long time. I want to talk about food and metabolic health.  Metabolic health is simply put when we have an even level of blood sugar throughout the day, even level of triglycerides and high HDL, all of those things without any medication help. About 12% of the United States population falls under that category now.

Through any of the studies that they’ve done on COVID and who’s affected the most and who’s not; a lot of the studies that have been already done and completed and sent out for public view has shown that people that are metabolically healthy have fewer issues with COVID.  They have spent less time in the hospital whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated. The biggest defense is being metabolically healthy through the studies that have been released so far. And again, only 12% of the population falls under that right now.

We’ve been working for at least the last six months with guys like Phil Kaplan and a Reboot Program that has turned around at least 20 of our clients. He’s run over 8,000 people through his 21-Day Reboot program in Florida alone and throughout the United States on his own and doing his own research and showing that he’s able to get people off their medications. I had somebody this morning, tell me that running through the Reboot one time, drop their cholesterol by 60 points in 21 days. So, they’re now off their cholesterol medication.

So, what we’re trying to do overall is the simplest way to put it is as we’re trying to get people metabolically healthy, we’re trying to reduce inflammation. Inflammation has been shown to be the cause of most disease that is out there. Inflammation is tied to Type Two Diabetes hypothyroidism and most autoimmune diseases.

Now it’s not a one-size-fits-all kind of a fix, but we want to work with everybody to try and fix the problem. So, we’re not going to have you come in and make you and fix everything that’s possibly wrong with you, but we just want to get your body functioning normally so that your body can repair itself.

We want to reduce stress. We want to reduce sugar intake. The average person in the United States eats 70 pounds of sugar per year of added sugar on top of what their food already contains.

A good source for information on a podcast to listen to would be Dr. Mark Hyman and Shawn Stevenson on the Model Health Show.

Shawn Stevenson also put out this book that I give to my clients called “Eat Smarter”.  He talks about his story and how he came into nutrition and how even the nutrition programs that dieticians go through college and master’s degrees are teaching people wrong. So it’s a great way to learn a little bit more about what’s going on with food.

Dr. Mark Hyman is a functional med doctor that has been doing this for years and helping people get off their medication and get their bodies thing normally.

Here in Clinton township, what we’re trying to do is that same thing in a small part of the world. And we want to try and affect as many people in Southeast Michigan as we possibly can.
