Renegade Pushups, Renegade Rows

Today, we’re talking about Renegade Pushups, Renegade Rows, people call them all different kinds of names, but most people hate them, but they’re great for the chest. They’re great for the core and they’re great for the back. So a lot of times when we’re trying to condense exercises and get the biggest bang for our buck, this is a great one to do. It does mess with people’s minds. If they’ve never done them before, as you’ll see, but it’s, it’s a great way to get a lot of stuff done in a very short period of time. We like to incorporate them in our workouts for people that have time crunches. So again, a lot of work in the core, but mainly a chest exercise.

So, what we’re going to do is I’ve got some weights here and we’re going to do a pushup, and then we’re going to do a pull and we’ll do a pushup and we’ll do a pull. We’ll do a couple of those. So you can get a good idea of what I’m talking about.

We want to have good form. We don’t want to twist our hips. We don’t want to push her butt up in the air, contract our abs, a lot of stuff going on at the same time. You’ll see what I’m talking about, but it’s a pretty challenging exercise, but it’s a great way to get us a lot of stuff done at once.

So I’ll take my feet a little bit wider than I normally would and the dumbbells are right underneath me. So you can see that we’re using round dumbbells. We keep them underneath you and don’t set them down outside of you. Once you set them down outside of you, you tend to push out, which would make things a lot more difficult. If I make sure and pay attention to where I’m putting them down, I keep them underneath my body. So I’m pushing straight down.

So what we’ll do is we do our pushup and a pull and a pushup and a pull. So our rep counts, we just count our pushup in this one, because it is such a fan favorite. We want to try and make sure we really focus on the form. Keep the back safe, get the abs stronger chest stronger along with your back too. Your upper back. I’m sorry.
